Emergency stroke care in Suffolk is at risk as part of an Anglia-wide review of services.
One of the options put forward as part of a controversial proposal by the NHS Midlands and East Stroke Review is to lose the hyper acute stroke units – considered to be the gold standard of stroke care – to be established at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and Colchester leaving Ipswich and West Suffolk hospital without the facilities.
The Ipswich Star has launched the Save our Stroke Services campaign to rally support and fight for care to remain in Suffolk.
